In 1994 Rocky Barstad was commissioned by Canadian Pacific Hotels & Resorts to create a mural depicting "early Native life in the Kananaskis Valley." Today the mural, titled "The Meeting Place" spans the entire southern wall of the Olympic Ballroom in the Lodge at Kananaskis and is a highlight of the strong Native theme that the Lodge and Hotel Kananaskis have adopted.
